Why a Nutri Ninja Nutri Bowl DUO?
The Nutri Ninja will free you to experiment in the kitchen. I've bought, used and purged so many ineffective blenders/mixers/fusion tools over the years that it was time to get serious. The cost of buying and replacing any tool is downright silly.
Why not just go with one that works in the first place? You actually save money this way because you don't have to keep buying the same product over and over again. My mom has a super fancy Ninja blender and suggested I use my Christmas money from her to upgrade my current Ninja. Not a bad idea. It also prevents me from "borrowing" hers.
And SharkNinja seems to be fully capable of reinventing themselves because this machine is so much quieter than my original. All I can hear is a gentle pulse. They also added these five grippy feet to the bottom of the base that keep it firmly in place when I work. Nice touch!
How the Nutri Ninja handles food texture
Even so, food preferences don't change all that much when we enter adulthood. Do they? For example, do you like thick or smooth salsa? Chunky or creamy guacamole? There's a big difference. What's great about the Nutri Ninja is that it makes food just how you like it.
These days....we're incorporating new ingredients into our lives in an effort to be as healthy as possible. But veggies tend to be fibrous and therefore more difficult to break up. The multitude of seeds we are using need extra power to puree them. Don't even get me started on kale. I love it and I grow it and I consume it. But when it's in a smoothie, I want it 100% pureed so that I hardly notice it's there. (And it's a great way to get kale down my kids without them knowing it.)
What is Auto-iQ?...to boost or not to boost? - that is the question!
There are 5 buttons to select from (6 including the Auto iQ Boost)
- Fusion Mix
- Fusion Chop
- Fusion Dough
So obviously the smoothie button is perfect for protein drinks, whether you use fresh or frozen fruit. Use extract for leafy greens (that kale!), other fibrous materials and seeds. The fusion mix is nice for dips, purees and sauces. I like the chop setting for salsa and pesto. Finally, with the dough button (and this is pretty unique on this type of tool) you can easily make your own breads and pizza dough.
Practice makes perfect
A few you must try....
- Broccoli tots (extremely low-carb yet tasty)
- Tropical frozen treat (mangoes and pineapples....oh my!!)
- Banana split frozen treat (satisfies your sweet tooth guilt-free)
- Chocolate protein pizzazz (this one's all about the protein for Tom)
- Rise & shine (a super unique breakfast idea that can't get any greener or healthier)
The Nutri Ninja is a wonderful way to make cold soups if you've never tried them before! Just be sure you top your creation with an edible nasturtium for effect. Nasturtiums have a peppery taste to them so they are nice toppings for a soup in particular.
A quick note on these blades of glory!
And I find that when I'm in the kitchen, I'm in a hurry! With two hungry kids and a starving husband I want food prep to be fast (so that I can clean up the kitchen and get on with my life.) I don't have time to putz around with appliances that sputter out or worse, don't work at all. It's both frustrating and time consuming to use an ineffective kitchen tool. Plus there's more cleaning involved when you dirty several appliances trying to work up dinner.
What really puts a smile on my face? Yup. The parts are dishwasher safe right down to the blades. Sometimes I choose to hand wash the parts so they will be dry and ready to go for my next food adventure. But I take comfort in the fact that I can rinse out my Nutri Ninja, (obviously not the base) plop those pieces on the top rack of the dishwasher shelf and then take a nap on my chaise lounge. You know I'm kidding....right?
Okay, this really is my last thought....promise
I was not paid for this endorsement by SharkNinja but they did send me the Nutri Ninja to test out.
