I'm finally committed to 100% organic gardening. And more recently, I've decided it's time to banish all harmful chemicals inside my home too. When you think of how many chemicals your skin is exposed to everyday, it's time to shudder in horror. So I was on the hunt for an organic, holistic and chemical-free company that made products for my face, hair and skin that didn't have those harsh ingredients. The other stipulation? The products have to work. Otherwise, what's the point? So I stumbled upon Made from Earth and they graciously sent me a few products to review. I'm even more excited that they are giving away my favorite product from the lineup, a face serum...yours for the win! (Are you ready to eliminate a few wrinkles and spoil your face, especially around the eyes?!) To enter, like the Raise Your Garden Facebook page and share this post or sign up for our newsletter. Sometimes you get what you deserve. There I was sniggering at the 80-year-old guy ahead of me getting carded at the grocery store for buying Mike's Hard Lemonade only to find out I was next. My license? Huh....I ask the clerk? Yup. It's for the lighter you're buying. Whaaat? I'm thinking. I'm really getting carded for a $5 cheapie fire starter for my candles? Yep again. They need to check to see if I'm an arsonist. Nope. I'm not. But I do like to be able to easily start a quick fire when needed. Whether it's in my fire pit or fireplace, being able to get that fire going pronto is wonderful. So we were thrilled when HomeRight sent us an ElectroLight power tool to review and hope you are the lucky winner of this incredible giveaway. Deck the halls with....pine tree evergreens. Fa la la la la. You get the drift. Christmas bling. You can never overdo it. Right?! Bigger is better. And if you happen to drive by my house and think it's tacky, I'm okay with that. But the week after Christmas? I start getting this feeling that it's time to take my decorations down. And it hurts. Which is why I love Desert Steel. Their Evergreen Luminary takes you from pre-Christmas to post holiday with ease. Simple and stunning steel. You can leave it up till March and it still looks good and will suit your surroundings in or out. Of course you can leave your real live tree up until March as well and trust me, I know plenty of people who do...but the dead needles will wreck havoc. So I'm happy for you and your chance to win this lovely luminary ARV $70 from Desert Steel. To enter, like the Raise Your Garden Facebook page and share this post or sign up for our newsletter. Do you know what the problem is with having seventeen trees under a 1/2 acre lot? Leaves. Tom and I both love the shade trees provide, but come Fall, the leaves are an issue. Left alone, they'll kill the grass. Besides, in my neighborhood, it is severely frowned upon to leave them. So we have two options. 1.) Rake them or 2) Use a leaf blower. Raking is a great workout but is time consuming. Using a leaf blower gets the job done in about one twentieth of the time. I remember the first time I saw my neighbor use a leaf blower and thought to myself, "wow, I knew there was an easier way." So I'm over the moon thrilled for your chance to win this stellar leaf blower from Echo valued at $330. In fact, it has a 4.9 rating out of 5 stars and that includes 378 reviews. Wow!! We finally did it. Yep. Installed our rubber EcoBorder around the perimeter of our landscaping. We could rave about how we think it looks, but you be the judge. Thoughts? Now that we have I can give the full-blown review with that experience under our belts. So we are thrilled to have partnered with EcoBorder again and for your chance to win over $200 in product from them. Let's face it. You're better off buying durable, higher quality tools than cheaper ones. The reason is simple. Cheap tools are constantly getting replaced and that's frustrating. And you're even likely to spend more money over the long haul because you'll end up buying two of something, the second likely being that expensive brand. Just invest in quality from the get-go. Good thing Gilmour has you covered today because they are giving you a 100 foot hose and nozzle valued at approximately $60 to get you started on the right path. People have been stalling in front of my house when strolling past and I finally figured it out. They're gawking at my new steel orange and white pumpkin luminaries from Desert Steel. In fact, one lady stopped, paused, ripped out a sheet of paper and made me write down the web address for Desert Steel so she could order. That's the attention they are garnishing. And it's true. They just highlight my curb appeal. During the day, they draw the eye. And during the night all lit up, they stun while glowing. I don't know about you, but I start thinking about decorating with pumpkins in September and leave them up all the way to Thanksgiving. Fall decorating is the best, don't you think? So I'm thrilled for two of you to win two of these beauties from Desert Steel valued at $130. To enter, like the Raise Your Garden Facebook page and share this post or sign up for our newsletter. Move over Jason Bourne. There's a new assassin in town. And we're still after the bad guys. Except this time, we're dealing with weeds, roots, and branches. It's called the Root Assassin and it's ready to tackle those weeds, dig up deep roots and slash that branch. You'll love this slender, rigid tool with serrated teeth for tons of tasks. I have lots of yard to do this fall and like different tools for various jobs. It all depends. But what makes the Root Assassin completely unique? It's the shovel/saw combo. Never seen the like of it before! It has never occurred to me to use a shovel to saw with. Until now. So I'm thrilled that there are two winners who will get their very own Root Assassin valued at $55. Wood fires are soothing. Aren't they? Nothing beats nestling up with the family to a comforting, warm fire watching the embers dying away. The smell alone is intoxicating. As fall approaches, the days are getting cooler and a fire pit or bowl is a wonderful way to extend the evenings. Besides, there's something almost magical about the snap, crackle and popping glow of a natural fire. Who doesn't want to indulge in a few more s'mores before winter? So we are absolutely over the moon thrilled about your chance of winning a $600 fire pit from Good Directions! Even better? There are three to choose from. You pick readers! There you are...on-the-go again! Tote bag in hand, you're finally out the door with all that "stuff" you need. Sure, I have several bags and use all of them in turn because they serve different purposes. Consider the traditional reusable grocery store bag. They are flimsy and kind of crappy. And they just don't offer the right kind of support to keep your produce, especially your berries in tact. Squished raspberries? Bleh. Squished eggs? Much, much worse. And insulation? Forget it. Enter Cabaggage! Finally a solution to a major problem. This market bag has it all. Lightweight but sturdy, you'll be hauling produce like never before, in style naturally! I affectionately call them my shovelly spades. At least in my head. After all, these hybrid shovels do the job of both - and that's just partly what makes them so spectacular. The other part? The fact that both Tom and I use them every single day. I'm not kidding. There's not a day we don't reach for these tools. Because they're not just for gardening, they are for every day yard tasks and whatever else you're tackling in your landscape right now. Clothesline? Gutter issue? Pool project? Underground pipe? Yep. Whatever you're working on rely on your Spear Head Spades to get the job done quickly. So we are thrilled they are back and this time offering you their short and mini fiberglass hybrid spades as a two-piece set valued at approximately $85! Hurrah. Fall is peaking around the corner. But that doesn't mean summer flare has to end. Indian summer never ceases to surprise. We love their eye-popping color and beautiful, bold and bright products that enhance our favorite dwelling space - the great outdoors. So Tom was stopped by a cop. In our front yard of all places. And he wasn't in a car or in trouble with the law. He was playing with our new sprinkler from Gilmour. Yup. The cop stopped to admire our new sprinkler. "Where in the world did you get that...I've never seen that before and I like it." So Tom gave him the rundown about how it works and the web address for Gilmour. "I'm going on right now, I need one of those." Another satisfied customer. And you'll be just as happy when you win this prize pack of watering tools from Gilmour including a 50 foot hose, metal sprinkler and solid brass high flow 4-way shut off valve. I'm not taking the bait. Nope. Just because I'd like to live in my Heartwood Prairie Home Bird House from Fine Garden Products doesn't mean the birds don't deserve it. Because they do. Really. Especially a mahogany bird house. You'll be so pleased with this absolutely adorable bird house too after you install it in your yard. In fact, we were so hyped when we ripped open the box that Tom was already up on a ladder within minutes of its arrival. And if hunter green and red isn't to your taste, they offer five color combinations to choose from ~ you'll love the yellow and teal! Gorgeous. Extra credit for the first person who can tell me what an Oya is. I certainly was unaware of their existence before now. An Oya is an ancient terracotta pot that is buried in the ground for irrigation purposes. It helps you both water less and waste less water. Not to mention saving you time! Plant roots instinctively grow toward the porous clay of the Oya and take exactly the amount of water they need. Simply fill up your Oya every 5-10 days and you are set. My first reaction upon opening the boxes from GrowOya was "ohhhh, this is gonna be fun." They look chic and function even better. Efficiency to the extreme. So we are over the moon excited about your chance of winning a set of Oya's including the small, medium and large sizes valued at $100. To enter, sign up for our newsletter. Your trees better hide. Because once you get your hands on these quality loppers from Garrett Wade, you will be snipping away like mad. They work so well that the temptation to clip off branches unnecessarily from my trees is too much to bear! This isn't work, it's fun. Playtime for the gardener. And when have I ever thought pruning trees and bushes to be fun? Never. And to say this set of pruners is heavy-duty would be the understatement of the year. Serious pruners for those who want the job done pronto. The ratcheting mechanism is amazing. No longer do I have to fight with my tool to get it to work. And isn't that how a good tool should be? Good tools make your life easier by functioning well with less effort from you. So I was ecstatic to learn more about Garrett Wade and the enormous selection of high-end tools they offer. Move over Pampers and Hugs because there's a new sheriff in town. Yep. No longer are diapers just for babies and for.... well, you get the drift. Your trees, shrubs and plants now want a diaper of their own please. I won't insult your intelligence describing how traditional diapers work, but imagine translating this same technology to your plants...retaining water for slow release back to the plant roots. Best of all? These mats and diapers are not just for outdoor use but should also be used on all your indoor pots and planters. Just imagine not having to water them every few days. So if you're a tad negligent on watering, you'll jump at the chance to do even less of it. All the while you'll save water, save plants, save the planet, and cut down on weeds with this slow release irrigation system. So it is with much enthusiasm that I am introducing you today to TreeDiaper and GardenMat, a completely innovative product for the water savvy gardener who wants it all. Let me explain how it works so you'll be able to win this $137 prize package from Tree Diaper. To enter, Like Raise Your Garden on Facebook and share this post. Have you ever hemmed and hawed over a purchase and then finally gave in after many years of deliberation? That's how I feel about my new rain barrel from Good Ideas. What took me so long! Even my 4-year-old has it down cold. And that speaks a lot about a product. We love Good Ideas for their innovative products that are easy to use, easy to install, and easy on the eyes. It's true, Tom and I have been toying with the idea of a DIY rain barrel for a long time. But it didn't happen. At times, even our best projects get bumped to the back burner. (Not the fish head project...I promise....we're going full-steam ahead on that one). So we pushed the easy button with this swoon-worthy rain barrel.
