I got my husband his first neti pot. They were made for each other. I'm big on salt for for sickness because it works. Dissolve a teaspoon of sea salt in 2 cups of warm water. Fill your neti pot with just one cup of water. (You'll want to stand over a sink while doing this). Place the tip of the spout into one nostril. Tilt your head to the side and allow the water to flow out the other nostil. Do not tilt your head back or the water will shoot down your throat instead. Make sure you continue to breathe naturally out of your mouth while using the neti pot. Then fill your neti pot again and repeat to the other nostril. Feel the pressure relieved. My advice would be to chew on one tablet about 15 minutes before you eat that pizza or chili as a preventative to heart burn or other issues. It still helps if you take it afterwards though. I don't get heartburn that often so I'm not ever really anticipating it and it catches me unawares.
