Don't you love Christmas? Tis the season to be jolly.

Listening to Christmas music and decorating is as good as it gets. As long as you're munching on gingerbread cookies while sipping hot cocoa.

So by all means deck the halls with "boughs of holly."

But also decorate with Desert Steel.

Place one of these all-weather, metal solar lights in your lemon cypress or rosemary topiary for some bling Desert Steel style.

Or how about your Christmas cactus or cyclamen? Save the last one for that red amaryllis pot. Stunning!

Make a red splash this Christmas season. Impress the neighbors outdoors, too.

Because these poppy solar lights should be used year-round for every season of life. There's never a time or a place where I don't want more light. Agree?!

Make sure you enter to win this incredible poppy solar light set (3) from the remarkable Desert Steel!

The power of red!

Red is an excellent color to decorate with this time of year.

Why is that you ask?

Because red decor lasts from now until after Valentine's Day. So if you choose neutral red decor like these Desert Steel solar lights, they can still be glowing till the end of February with no shame.

Unlike that humongous red plastic light-up Santa you bought from BJ's. That has to come down January 2nd. No excuses.

I love to spice up my home and garden this time of year with glints of red where I feel so inspired!

And the poppy solar light shade of red is simply fabulous. A vibrant hue of red that is alive with light.

I've said it before but it's worth repeating: Desert Steel always manages to nail the right shade of any hue. They are amazing with color!

Please...Desert Steel artisans...just come over and tell me what color to paint my bathroom. Help me.

But I digress.

Ahhhh. The power of neutral decor. It makes life easy. Simple. Solar lights that function as well as they look.

The problem with Daylight Savings

I despise Daylight Savings and know I am not alone!

It gets dark far too early as winter draws near. Daylight Savings magnifies the issue making it worse than need be.

It seems more reasonable to me to wake up getting ready in the dark over driving home in the pitch black sky at 5:30 p.m. Morning dark is better than afternoon dark.

Bleh.

We do this insane clock shifting exercise that confuses us all as to the real time until spring when we do it all again. Why is that?

But I'm fighting a lost battle.

So I seek other ways to perk myself up. Enter: Desert Steel Solar Lights.

Pretty and practical, they make me happy all aglow. Well...as happy as a woman can be when it gets dark at 4 p.m. {Insert slight exaggeration here.)

Rant. Over.

But please....let there be light. Solar lights are the best way to illuminate spaces that aren't getting the light they deserve.

Light is cheering. Illumination is a necessity of life! We can't all live in Florida. Or Texas.

So use solar lights to brighten up the dark places in your life. Uplift your sagging spirit with red poppy solar lights from Desert Steel today!

Use solar lights indoors or out

Have you heard? Indoor solar light use is becoming quite a thing. Use them to dress up a hallway or your foyer.

How about at the bottom of your stairs? That snake plant could use a red solar light. Yep. Plop one in the pot for an instant glow.

Or how about those hibiscus plants you winterize each year? Surely they will appreciate being glammed up with a red Desert Steel poppy solar light?

A yellow hibiscus flower with a red poppy solar light? Gorgeous!

Or consider placing them in your outdoor holly bush pots or next to your dwarf spruce spiral topiary? Lovely.

For a Christmas inspired look put one in a pom pom holly topiary that have stolen my heart. Too cute.

That sweet little Norfolk pine tree growing outside your front window is begging for a solar light, too.

But any outdoor evergreen plant or shrub is going to look fabulous with a solar light next to it. Even your landscape plants will appreciate a little extra light.

We all do!

No assembly required!

So I'm an assembly wimp.

I just don't like to be bothered or taxed with any extra work.

Just another chore on the old to-do list. And trust me, with three small kids the laundry alone is overwhelming.

This is just another reason why I rave over Desert Steel and their products so much. I don't have to do anything.

Almost from the moment the FedEx man (or lady these days) plops that box on my front porch; I'm rearing to go.

Within minutes, the box is ripped open and I'm already using my new Desert Steel product.

Love that. No work. Instant gratification. Why can't all aspects of life be this simple?

Okay, for the pumpkins and the gourd I had to stick in the stem. But no big deal. Easy peasy.

No maintenance either. That's the ticket!

And the light they provide....I'm telling you, it's incredible!

Final illuminating thoughts....

Most solar lights are just plain dim.

They don't add much light. Not nearly bright enough.

But that is the whole point of a good solar light~ to add adequate illumination.

You will not be disappointed in the super bright LED lights that radiate from these red poppy solar lights.

Both the top and bottom lights give off a brilliant light increasing illumination. It's a double lighting whammy.

And with a run-time of 10 hours, they stay lit virtually forever. So you don't have to fret at 3 a.m. in the morning that they shut off.

No cheap, flimsy plastic solar lights here. Unacceptable.

Metal solar lights that are hand-fashioned out of a flat piece of steel that are then cut, folded, pressed and welded to create unique pieces of art to reflect your style!

Only the best from the illustrious Desert Steel.

Straight out of Wichita, Kansas; there's nothing not to love.

The sun sets in the UK before 16:30. Totally weird for me as at home in winter it gets dark after 18:00.
